Overview

Council of the Americas will hold a private, off-the-record, Ambassadors Breakfast Series meeting with Joe Hockey, the ambassador of Australia to the United States.

Following President Trump’s recent trip to Asia, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam, and agreement by the TPP 11 on core principles for conclusion of the pact without the United States, the time is ripe for a conversation on the Asia-Pacific-Americas trade agenda (read A Setting Sun for U.S. Leadership on Trade.) Former treasurer of Australia and current Ambassador to the U.S., Hockey will provide a unique perspective on the potential impact of free trade between Latin America and the Asia Pacific region on the U.S. economy.

In our continuing effort to strengthen ties between business and the diplomatic community in Washington, our recently-launched Ambassadors Breakfast Series provides a private, higher-level, members-only opportunity to meet with regional leaders to discuss relevant and pressing issues. These meetings are designed as a forum to advance issues in a meaningful way, revolving around member interaction and accessibility rather than formal presentations or formats.

Due to the special, higher level nature of this event, we reserve the right to limit substitutions to those of substantially similar or higher rank as invited principals.  Please contact us with any questions.

To register, email us at dcprograms@as-coa.org.

RSVP no later than 3:00 p.m. the day before the event.
