Overview

Council of the Americas will hold a private meeting with the new U.S. Ambassador to Peru, Krishna Urs.

Ambassador Urs comes to the post with a wealth of Foreign Service experience in Latin America. He most recently served as the Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Spain. He has held a variety of positions at the embassies in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Peru, and Mexico. A specialist in economics, Urs has worked in both the Treasury and the State Departments to help integrate US-Latin American markets.

This meeting will be an outstanding opportunity to engage with the Ambassador prior to his departure for post to discuss pressing issues in the bilateral context, and begin a dialogue concerning the April Summit of the Americas which will be held in Lima.
