Overview

Please join the Council of the Americas for an on-the-record conversation with Roberto Ampuero, minister of foreign affairs of Chile. Minister Ampuero will discuss Chile's new emphases in the foreign policy approach of President Sebastián Piñera’s second term, aimed at maximizing Chile's leadership role in multilateralism within the Pacific Alliance, APEC, and other regional mechanisms. This will also be a unique opportunity to hear the minister's analysis regarding the topics discussed at the 48th General Assembly of the Organization of American States, including the crisis in Venezuela.

A noted journalist and published author, Ampuero was previously Chile’s ambassador to Mexico during President Piñera’s first term and subsequently served as minister of the National Council for Culture and the Arts.
