Overview

Council of the Americas will hold a private, off-the-record roundtable with Ken Hyatt, acting under secretary for international trade for the U.S. Department of Commerce, on the new trade and investment agenda of Brazil’s new administration under President Michel Temer.

Hyatt traveled to São Paulo and Brasilia in Brazil the last week of September and was the first high level U.S. government official to visit Brazil after Temer took office. As part of his visit, he helped launch the U.S.-Brazil Defense Industry Dialogue, participated in the third annual health IT trade mission and participated in trade discussions with Brazilian government officials, and the U.S. and Brazilian industry. This roundtable provides a timely opportunity to share views on the Brazilian economy and opportunities to strengthen the U.S.-Brazil commercial relationship.

Hear what Temer said at a COA event in New York (in Portuguese).
