Overview

Council of the Americas will hold a private discussion on the future of Brazil after the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff.

Alex Cuadros, author of Brazillionaires: Wealth, Power, Decadence, and Hope in an American Country and frequent writer on Brazilian affairs, will share his insights into Brazil’s trajectory under the leadership of Michel Temer. Amid the fallout of Rousseff’s impeachment, a deep economic recession, widespread income inequality, and far-reaching corruption investigations including Lava Jato, the conversation will explore the implications of these developments for Brazil’s democracy and future in the global economy.
