On the sidelines of the AS/COA conference "Cultivating the Next Generation of Female Leaders," three leaders in their fields spoke with AS/COA Online about their experiences and what women can bring to leadership roles.

President and CEO of Softtek Blanca Treviño spoke about her experiences in leadership and how to be creative and skillful when keeping a team together. She also talks about increasing awareness about Mexico's technology sector and why women excel at "disruptive innovation."

Deputy Managing Director of Banco Bradesco S.A. Denise Pavarina described the growing role of women in decision-making in the finance sector. She describes how women bring emotional intelligence to the process of making important business decisions. "Nobody can live without the participation of women nowadays," she said. "And because we have purchasing power, we are making much more of a difference."

Univisión Correspondent Nayeli Chavez-Geller talked about the role of women in journalism. Despite certain stereotypes about women and, particularly, Latinas in news media and television, Chavez-Geller describes her experience as one with women in leadership positions. Chavez-Geller sees a transition between a time when women did not help each other as much to a more recent movement focused on mentorship. "It's like a new trend," she says. "I hope it stays."
