By Stephanie Musat

AS/COA's Christopher Sabatini will host the lecture "How Well did the Latin American Left Do Against Injustice?" at Five Corners Branch Library in Jersey City, NJ on February 27.

Christopher Sabatini, senior director of the Americas Society and the Council of the Americas, will be hosting a lecture about social movements through Latin America and their effects on elected officials at the Five Corners Branch Library on Monday.

Sabatini, an expert on Latin American politics, is speaking as part of a lecture series through Montclair State University's Program in Latin American and Latino Studies, the International Institute of New Jersey and the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.

The event starts a 5 p.m. and is open to the public.

Ruth Kunstadter, AmeriCorps Program Manager, said the event is especially important in Jersey City because of the Latin American population that lives in the county.

"We have one of the most diverse populations in the state," she said.  "The topic of the lecture is especially relevant to the local population as most come from the countries that Dr. Sabatini will be talking about."
