Audio: Alexandre Tombini, Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil

Governor of Brazil's Central Bank Alexandre Tombini discussed the outlook for Brazil's economy and financial markets, providing insight on the country's exchange rate policy and inflation growth.

At a February 25 event held by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce and AS/COA, Governor of Brazil's Central Bank Alexandre Tombini provided an outlook for Brazil's economy along with its job and financial market. He also discussed inflation, exchange rate policy, and investments. Although Tombini said inflation has been "more resilient" in recent months, the production of a bumper crop of grains will slow inflation in the second half of this year. "Apart from any major shocks going forward, food inflation should not be as unfavorable as it was last year," said Tombini.
