AS/COA to Assume Control of Latin Trade Group Live Events

The addition of LT's live events broadens AS/COA's offerings in Miami and across the hemisphere.

New York, January 21, 2016 – Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) announced today that it will assume control of the successful and time-honored Latin Trade Symposium & BRAVO Business Awards and the CFO Forum Series.

Latin Trade Symposium & BRAVO Business Awards, held annually in Miami, attracts over 500 leaders from across the hemisphere to dialogue, network, and recognize excellence in the public, private, and social development sectors. The CFO Forum Series, which spans eight cities throughout the region, gathers chief financial officers of local companies, multilatinas, and multinational corporations to share best practices.

“We are thrilled by the addition of Latin Trade Group's entire spectrum of live events. There are huge synergies between our offerings, particularly in Latin America, and the franchises that we will absorb,” said AS/COA President and CEO Susan Segal. “This is transformative to our presence in Miami and reaffirms our focus on serving the needs of our members and constituents.”

AS/COA will assume control of the Latin Trade Group live event franchises from Miami Media, part of the holdings of Isis Venture Partners, a private equity firm based in New York. “Americas Society/Council of the Americas was the natural choice to assume Latin Trade Group's live events portfolio. The organization has unparalleled convening power and commands huge respect among leaders of both the private and public sector across the hemisphere," said Latin Trade Group Chairman and Isis Venture Partners General Partner Richard Burns.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for AS/COA as it significantly broadens our public policy offering in Miami and reaffirms our commitment to this community,” said AS/COA Miami Senior Director Nancy Anderson Bolton.

The media properties Latin Trade magazine and LatinTrade.com will be transferred to a senior management group led by Executive Editor Santiago Gutierrez. A Miami-based team overseen by Executive Director Maria Lourdes Gallo will join AS/COA and will continue to successfully manage the Latin Trade assets and relationships that have been incorporated through this transaction.
