After years of living under a serious economic embargo, Cuba begins a slow opening to capitalist practices. The measures are well received by the majority of the Cuban population but experts warn of the possible social effects that these changes might have in the country.
"It's neccesary, it creates political space. But it does not mean it's a dramatic economic reform. In many ways, it creates a challenge for this revolution to renew itself over the long term because of the lack of leadership turn over," says AS/COA's Christopher Sabatini.
